Limited to 20,000 copies for exclusive sale... Main exhibition includes 'Klimt', 'Yves Klein', and diverse contemporary displays
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The 'Light Theater,' held at Seoul's first permanent exhibition hall 'Walkerhill Theater,' is starting early bird ticket sales for its opening work, 'Gustav Klimt, Gold in Motion,' to commemorate its opening.
The event organizer, Timonet, announced on the 16th that early bird tickets for the Light Theater's 'Gustav Klimt, Gold in Motion' will be exclusively sold in a limited quantity of 20,000 tickets at a 40% discount on the official 'Light Theater' website. Tickets can be purchased until the 22nd, and customers can also receive a 5% point accumulation benefit when paying with Payco points. This event is Timonet's second project in the 'Light Series,' transforming the 'Walkerhill Theater,' which has played a symbolic role in the performing arts scene for over 50 years since its opening in 1963, into a space reborn with 'light.'
The first exhibition presented at the Light Theater, 'Gustav Klimt, Gold in Motion,' will run from the 27th of this month until March 5th of next year. It offers a new reinterpretation of the works of Gustav Klimt, known as the 20th-century painter of golden hues, through light and music. Visitors can enjoy masterpieces spanning Klimt's entire life, including his representative works such as 'The Kiss,' 'Judith,' and 'The Tree of Life.' The works of Yves Klein, a representative of French Nouveau R?alisme, feature an introduction that feels as if it begins under the conductor's baton, leading the audience into complete immersion and giving the sensation of becoming part of the performance. Additionally, diverse and broad content is offered, including a 'Studio' where contemporary art pieces like 'Verse' and 'Memories' can be appreciated.
Moreover, visitors can experience the 'Bridge,' which allows enjoyment of the 21-meter ceiling height from various heights and perspectives; the 'Green Room,' a photo zone with a dressing room concept; the 'Mirror Room,' where the reflected artworks in mirrors offer a unique charm; and the 'Small Aquarium,' where the water in the tank becomes another canvas.
To commemorate the opening, the Light Theater also offers art products in collaboration with various brands and artists. The upcycling brand 'ULKIN,' popular among the MZ generation for its blend of artistry and trendiness; 'Tegutegu Drawing Diary,' which presents unique illustrations featuring characters drawn into famous places or masterpieces; and together they will showcase stationery items such as postcards and mini posters, as well as unique fashion items. These art products are available for purchase at the 'Art Shop' inside the Light Theater.
