The 'Green Concert' hosted by Seowon Valley Golf Course in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, is returning after three years due to the impact of COVID-19. It will be held on the 28th. The course will open from 12 PM, and the main performance starts at 6 PM. Since its inception in 2000, it has been running for 22 years, evolving into a massive concert attracting over 3,000 fans from overseas annually, with a total attendance of around 40,000. Nearby restaurants and accommodations in Paju City and Gwangtan-myeon are also experiencing a 'special effect' boom.
Most importantly, it is meaningful as a stage where the whole family can gather and enjoy the fresh nature of May. Although the performers donate their talents voluntarily without appearance fees, a total of 29 teams, including top domestic idol groups Pentagon and AB6IX, will perform. The lineup includes trot singers such as Kim Won-jun, Park Mi-kyung, Wax, Baek Ji-young, Baek A-yeon, Hwang Woo-rim, and Park Gun, as well as popular Pungnyu Daejang member Eoks, covering all eras and genres. The MCs are Lee Jong-hyun, editor-in-chief of Leisure Newspaper, and comedian Park Mi-sun.
The main theme is naturally 'sharing.' Over the years, 600 million KRW in charity funds have been raised through food markets and various events and donated to Paju Orphanage and the Love Wheelchair Sending Movement Headquarters. The entire course is a playground. Children immerse themselves in four- or five-line acrostic poems, kite flying, and face painting, while adults participate in long drive contests, approach shots, and putting competitions. The fairways of the nine holes at Seowon Hills have been transformed into parking lots, and the bunkers serve as wrestling rings.
If you get hungry, visit the food market. Employees from Hwaseong Rest Area on the highway, affiliated with Seowon Valley, sell udon, baked potatoes, Makgeolli, and more. Callaway Golf is holding a treasure hunt and a big discount event for the Love Sharing Warehouse. Admission is free for everyone. Sneakers are a must, and considering the nighttime temperature, jackets and blankets are necessary. Prizes worth a total of 100 million KRW, including LG 65-inch large TVs, airline tickets, travel packages, and golf equipment, await attendees.
