The NongHyup Seoul Regional Headquarters announced on the 14th that it conducted a promotional campaign for the 'Hometown Love Donation System' at the Meeting Plaza in Seoul Olympic Park. The event was attended by Hwang Jun-gu, head of Seoul NongHyup Headquarters, and Kim Sa-yeop, CEO of Korea Sports Industry Development, among others.
Seoul NongHyup organized this campaign to inform customers using the direct transaction market at Olympic Park and citizens visiting the park about the purpose of the Hometown Love Donation System, and to build consensus on the necessity of operating thank-you gifts mainly consisting of agricultural and livestock products.
The Hometown Love Donation System, scheduled to be implemented on January 1 next year, allows people from other regions to donate up to 5 million KRW to their hometown or a region they support or prefer, and receive local specialties worth 30% of the donation amount as thank-you gifts along with a tax credit.
Head Hwang Jun-gu said, "I hope the culture of donations to local governments spreads, revitalizing the local economy and providing hope to agriculture and rural areas," adding, "We will concentrate our efforts on preparing the system so that the Hometown Love Donation System is successfully established, serving as a foundation for improving the quality of life of farmers and balanced development between urban and rural areas."
