Department of Architecture at University of Seoul Wins Excellent Presentation Paper Award at Architectural Institute of Korea Conference for Two Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The Department of Architecture at the University of Seoul announced on the 13th that undergraduate students majoring in Architecture have won the Excellent Presentation Paper Award at the Architectural Institute of Korea Academic Conference for two consecutive years.

Undergraduate students Bang Yu-seop, Ahn Sang-hyun, and Lee Chang-seok (advised by Professor Yoon Jung-won) received the award in the university student category at the "2022 Architectural Institute of Korea Spring Academic Conference" for their paper titled "A Study on Block Prototyping Using FGF." The University of Seoul explained that this achievement is the result of the university's internal academic research project, "Basic and Protective Sciences and Convergence Field Research and Development (R&D) Foundation Project." The award certificate will be presented to the recipients on the 17th.

Students Bang Yu-seop and Lee Chang-seok also won the Excellent Presentation Paper Award at the same conference in 2021, achieving two consecutive years of recognition. Last year, they were awarded for their paper on "Architectural Module Prototyping Using 3D Printing with Recycled Oyster Shell Powder." Both students are currently working as undergraduate researchers at the Architecture Department's TAD lab at the University of Seoul. They prepared their conference paper last year through the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) supported by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

A representative from the University of Seoul stated, "The Architecture Department's TAD lab at our university conducts research in various fields aiming at university research, industry-academia cooperation, and the expansion of the architectural market."
