Creating an Immersive Video Space Featuring Marine Healing Stories
[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Jeonnam Wando-gun announced that on the 12th, it held a kickoff briefing session for the ‘Marine Culture Healing Center Media Art Production Project’ at the county office situation room.
According to the county on the 13th, the creation of media art for the Marine Culture Healing Center is a project aimed at presenting immersive media art that combines advanced video technology with story-centered content related to Wando marine healing to visitors of the Marine Culture Healing Center.
This project is part of the Marine Healing Blue Zone creation project, which has been underway since 2019, and is being promoted with a budget of 500 million KRW for the audiovisual building of the Marine Culture Healing Center currently under construction in Sinji-myeon, with completion targeted by the end of July this year.
The media art will be composed of four stages under the theme ‘serene garden’: tranquil garden, time of the sea, sound of the forest, and deep sinking, providing visual and auditory comfort.
In particular, by introducing the concept of space telling (a combination of space and storytelling) that embodies the theme of ‘healing’ rather than a simple video viewing space, it plans to present a new paradigm of immersive video and make it a landmark of the Wando Marine Culture Healing Center.
Meanwhile, the Marine Culture Healing Center, consisting of four buildings (audiovisual, olfactory, gustatory, auditory), provides human five-sense healing programs based on marine cultural resources and is being created as a space that offers physical and mental health improvement and healing through cultural and artistic activities by the end of this month.
Kang Seong-woon, acting mayor of Wando-gun, emphasized, “As healing through the ocean is gaining attention, we will create new exhibition content that fits the healing concept so that marine healing can be experienced realistically through media art.”
