28th Youth Executive Meeting Hosted Exhibition, Programs Including Hope Postcard Exhibition Provided
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 12th that it will operate a program commemorating the 42nd anniversary under the theme "May to be Remembered for a Long Time," hosted by the Youth Executive Meeting, a gathering of public officials below grade 6, until the 18th.
First, the "5·18 Exhibition for Children" will be held at Buk-gu Junghung Library until the 18th.
On the 16th and 17th, a "5·18 Wish Messages Delivered by Postcards" exhibition, symbolizing the desire to form a community of sharing and solidarity, will take place in the lobby on the first floor of the district office building.
Also, through morning broadcasts involving employees within the district office, there will be time to look back on May by discussing 5·18 historical sites and previously unknown incidents.
Along with this, the Buk-gu Cultural Center will host a special May uprising exhibition titled "Spring Days Permeated in the Fields" until the 24th.
Earlier, on the 3rd and 9th, Buk-gu conducted a visit to the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery and environmental maintenance such as tombstone cleaning, with about 100 participants including new and executive public officials.
A Buk-gu official said, "We hope the 5·18 commemorative program will serve as an opportunity to honor the May spirits who sacrificed for democracy, human rights, and peace, and to inherit the spirit of Gwangju."
Meanwhile, the Buk-gu Youth Executive Meeting, the first study group formed in Gwangju City in 1996, engages in activities to strengthen administrative capabilities such as researching district development tasks, promoting special policies, and social contribution.
