Damyang Haedong Culture and Arts Village Hosts Exhibition on 'Reflection on Violence'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang-gun Cultural Foundation Haedong Culture and Arts Village announced on the 12th that it will hold an exhibition titled ‘Reflections on Violence’ at the Area Gallery starting from the 14th.

This exhibition was planned to provoke new philosophical reflections beyond fragmented thoughts on violence through the works of three invited artists based on the major history and culture of the Honam region.

All three artists invited to this exhibition start from ‘reality.’

No Suntak captures the actual scene through photography on site, while Ha Taebeom reconstructs the scene based on given information (photographs).

In contrast, Cho Jeongtae depicts the scenes he personally experienced and the process of civilization through his painterly abilities.

The concept of ‘violence,’ one of the important themes in contemporary philosophy, is analyzed diversely in fields such as philosophy, sociology, and political science.

In today’s world, where the causes and methods of violence have become much more intricate and cunning, resulting in more violence, and faced with the troubling reality that violence and human nature, its justification, and human civilization are built upon violence, this exhibition will provide philosophical reflections on violence.

On the 21st, an art talk show ‘TokTokTok,’ a program linked to the exhibition, will also be held to offer the public a broader understanding.
