'COVID-19 Living Support Fund' Online Application Available on Government24 Starting the 13th

Online Application Service Launched for Recovered COVID-19 Patients Released from Quarantine

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] From the 13th, living support funds provided for hospitalization or quarantine due to COVID-19 infection can be applied for online through Government24.

On the 12th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that starting from the 13th, the ‘Living Support Fund Online Application Service’ for COVID-19 confirmed cases will be launched via the Government24 website or mobile app. The living support fund is financial aid given to quarantined individuals who did not receive paid leave among those hospitalized or quarantined due to COVID-19. Until now, applications could be made by visiting the town, township, or neighborhood offices in person, or via mail or email.

Confirmed cases whose quarantine has been lifted after the service launch date can access Government24, go to the ‘Grants24 - My Benefits’ menu, check personalized guidance, and then apply for the COVID-19 living support fund.

Additionally, for confirmed cases quarantined after April 11, if documents verifying quarantine notification and quarantine release are needed beyond the text message sent by the public health center, they can be issued online through Government24.

Lee Yong-seok, Director of the Administrative Service Promotion Team, said, “We hope that the online application for the COVID-19 living support fund will reduce the inconvenience for citizens who had to visit local community centers in person and also alleviate the workload of local government staff handling the reception and processing of living support fund applications.” Lim Sook-young, Head of the Situation Management Division at the Central Disease Control Headquarters, said, “With the establishment of an online platform for applying for living support funds and issuing quarantine notices, we can respond more effectively to situations such as the resurgence of COVID-19.”
