[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Numerous associations and companies representing the ICT industry attended President Yoon Seok-yeol's inauguration ceremony, which emphasized the commitment to job creation through innovation and growth led by the private sector.
On the morning of the 10th, many associations and companies representing the ICT industry were invited to attend President Yoon's 20th presidential inauguration ceremony held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul.
Most associations in the ICT industry were invited. These include the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA), Korea Cloud Industry Association, Korea Metaverse Industry Association, Korea Internet Corporations Association, Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA), Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association, Radio Promotion Association (RAPA), and Korea Information Broadcasting and Communications Federation (ICT Federation).
In the online video service (OTT) sector, Park Tae-hoon, CEO of Watcha, was the sole attendee. Watcha is a domestic OTT startup that has grown through big data-based personalized content recommendation services since its predecessor, WatchaPedia.
Several leading companies from the platform industry, where President Yoon announced plans for deregulation, were also invited. It is known that Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, Kim Sung-soo, Chairman of Kakao's Board, Kang Han-seung, CEO of Coupang, Kim Beom-jun, CEO of Woowa Brothers (Baedal Minjok), and Kim Seul-ah, CEO of Kurly, attended. Lee Seung-geon, CEO of Viva Republica (Toss), Lee Su-jin, CEO of Yanolja, and Ahn Sung-woo, CEO of Zigbang, were also invited.
Meanwhile, approximately 41,000 people attended the inauguration ceremony, including former and current presidents and their families, members of the National Assembly and government officials, representatives from various sectors, diplomatic envoys, and invited members of the public.
