According to Dongshin University on the 10th, at the 'Academic Seminar for Seeking Changes in Naju through Carbon Neutrality,' Professor Lee Sang-jun of the Department of Architectural Engineering presented electric vehicle used batteries and renewable energy as carbon neutrality measures to lead changes in Naju.
Professor Lee introduced various efforts by Dongshin University for carbon neutrality, including ▲ the opening of the Energy Cluster ▲ achievements of the Makerspace project team ▲ promotion of secondary battery recycling product development ▲ establishment of an e-mobility campus testbed using electric vehicle used batteries ▲ development of a solar-powered electric scooter charging system ▲ and offshore wind power workforce training.
He also proposed building a shared economy energy prosumer linked with welfare, tourism, energy, and information and communication technology (ICT), and establishing the nation's only energy experience city as core promotion strategies.
Subsequently, using local infrastructure such as public institutions in the Innovation City and companies located in Bitgaram Energy Valley, they shared various opinions with experts aiming to attract a Naju-type energy prosumer center and establish a regional shared economy that connects the production, supply, and consumption of renewable energy.
At the discussion, Professor Lee evaluated, "It was a meaningful time to discuss various measures to develop Bitgaram Innovation City into an energy-leading and exemplary city."
Meanwhile, prior to the discussion, Cho Seung-hee, head of the Climate Change Policy Research Center at the Gwangju-Jeonnam Research Institute, gave a presentation titled 'Suggestions for Carbon Neutrality in Naju City,' and Son Chang-woo, head of LCM Energy Solutions, presented 'Directions for Regional Community Development through Agricultural Energy Convergence Projects,' proposing future directions for Naju through carbon neutrality.
