[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Professor Wang Yoonjong of Dongduk Women's University stepped down from his position as an outside director of Hyosung Chemical on the 9th. Hyosung Chemical announced through a public disclosure on the same day that Director Wang resigned from his outside director position due to personal reasons.

Director Wang was reappointed as an outside director of Hyosung Chemical for a two-year term on March 17 but voluntarily resigned after two months. On the day he was reappointed as an outside director of Hyosung Chemical, he was appointed as a member of the Economic Subcommittee 2 in charge of industrial policy at the Presidential Transition Committee of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol, which appears to have led to his decision to step down from the outside director position.

Professor Wang previously served as Director of Management and Economic Research at SK Inc. (at the executive director level), Senior Vice President of SK China, and Director of the China Economic Research Institute at SK Inc. (at the managing director level).
