[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 8th that it is recruiting participants for the Youth Global Marketer Project.

The Youth Global Marketer Project is a program to strengthen the export capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the private specialized organization, the Korea Small and Medium Business Trade Association. It provides trade education, mentoring, and practical training programs to young people who are either employed at or seeking jobs in SMEs, helping to enhance their capabilities and nurture them as export specialists to be supplied to SMEs.

The eligibility criteria include young people aged 15 to 34 who are currently working in overseas marketing departments of SMEs or are job seekers. This year, the Small and Medium Business Corporation expanded the eligible age range to include young people who have successfully found employment early as well as those still seeking jobs.

The number of recruits is 100. Trainees will complete courses such as basic trade, e-commerce trade, and practical marketing using overseas social platforms through e-learning or in-person classes, and receive one-on-one mentoring from matched trade experts.

Fifty outstanding trainees will be offered an on-site practical training program to enhance their capabilities. They can choose one course from ▲on-site training at overseas exhibitions ▲overseas social platform marketing ▲practical marketing for pinpointing overseas buyers.

Applications for participation can be submitted by filling out the application form in the announcement and sending it via a separate email by the 20th. Detailed information and the announcement can be found on the Small and Medium Business Corporation’s website. Inquiries can be directed to the Export Marketing Division of the Small and Medium Business Corporation.

Kim Hak-do, Director of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, said, “Since introducing the Youth Global Marketer Project in 2020 to lay the foundation for expanding exports of small and medium-sized ventures, we have been leading efforts to nurture young export specialists. This year, we plan to promote the project by strengthening trade practical education to enhance the capabilities of young personnel and supporting overseas marketing practice for rapid adaptation to work.”
