[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Kim Hoe-jae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Yeosu-si Eul, Jeonnam), announced on the 6th that he secured 1.4 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, including 700 million KRW for the construction of the Ungcheon Edupark public parking lot.
The 1.4 billion KRW in special grants secured by Representative Kim will be used for ▲construction of the Ungcheon-dong Edupark public parking lot (700 million KRW) ▲creation of the Deokchung-dong Expo Town public parking lot (400 million KRW) ▲extension work of the Ocheon Port breakwater (300 million KRW).
The Ungcheon-dong Edupark public parking lot construction project is a project to build a public parking lot at Edupark (Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, Yi Sun-sin Library, Senior Culture and Sports Center), where parking spaces are insufficient.
Yeosu City explained that the construction of the Edupark public parking lot will increase the convenience for Yeosu citizens using Edupark.
The Deokchung-dong Expo Town area has been subject to numerous complaints due to chronic parking difficulties, and it has been evaluated that parking spaces for stores and local residents are absolutely insufficient.
Accordingly, 400 million KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will be invested to create a public parking lot.
The Ocheon Port breakwater extension project is being promoted to minimize property damage to local residents by ensuring safe berthing of vessels during bad weather, and to expand docking facilities corresponding to the number of fishing boats and improve living conditions for local residents.
Representative Kim Hoe-jae announced that he secured 300 million KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the Ocheon Port breakwater extension project.
Representative Kim said, “Financial support from the central government is essential for balanced regional development,” and added, “I expect that the special grants in the first half of the year will improve the livelihood and safety of local residents.”
He also added, “Furthermore, I will do my best to ensure that projects for the development and future of Yeosu City proceed smoothly under the new government.”
