Selected as One of the Korea Tourism Organization's 'Top 25 Contactless Safe Tourist Destinations for the Spring Season' This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk will exhibit large-scale sculptures from the 7th of this month to the 12th of next month to offer unique sights and fun to tourists visiting Gyeongcheon Island.
Following last year's popular 'Nakdong River Duck Egg' themed exhibition, this year’s theme is 'The Secret of Nakdong River Duck Egg Island - The Legend of the Golden Frog,' featuring displays of golden frogs, cranes, snakes, otters, and more.
Gyeongcheon Island is a 200,000㎡ ecological park where various trees and flowers harmonize, and it was selected as one of the '25 Safe Non-Face-to-Face Tourist Destinations for Spring 2022' by the Korea Tourism Organization, making it a non-face-to-face healing spot.
Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the Nakdong River along the water trail installed on the river and the riverside path.
At the Nakdong River Crane Observatory, visitors can enjoy the sunset and the night view enhanced by lighting installations.
Around Gyeongcheon Island, various tourist resources are scattered, including Gyeongcheondae, the National Nakdong River Biological Resources Center, the Bicycle Museum, Sangju International Equestrian Center, Sangjubo Water Leisure Center, and the Military Theme Park.
By searching for ‘Sangju e Nuri’ on various portals and online shopping malls, visitors can enjoy Sangju tourism affordably by using the e Nuri tourism products planned by Gyeongbuk Province and Sangju City.
An official from Sangju City said, “Gyeongcheon Island is famous as a healing spot and emotional recharging place with the most beautiful scenery along the Nakdong River,” adding, “We hope visitors have a healing time through the unique sights and themed exhibitions.”
