Children's Day 100th Anniversary Celebration Message

On the 4th, Park released a statement saying, "Recently, as COVID-19 quarantine measures have been eased, I see children participating in sports festivals, school trips, and outdoor activities at schools," adding, "Watching children who had been staying indoors now running around joyfully, I think about how stifled they must have felt."
She continued, "Children's Day, established in 1923, was designated by Mr. Sofa Bang Jeong-hwan to change the reality where children were marginalized or unprotected in society," and pledged, "Following Mr. Sofa Bang Jeong-hwan's intention, Gwangju education will serve as a strong fence and support to ensure children can grow up safely."
She also emphasized, "The first article of the Children's Charter states, 'Children should be born healthy and grow up in a warm family filled with love,'" adding, "It is the rightful duty of the state to ensure that all children grow up safely and live in happy families."
Furthermore, she said, "Through the care platform 'Ai Itda' and the establishment of a care agency, we will make every effort to help children grow up bright and healthy," and added, "We will refresh Gwangju education so that children's dreams and hopes can flourish fully."
