[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Park Geun-o, head of the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, visited the traditional temple (Yakcheonsa) located in Seogwipo City on the 3rd to conduct a fire safety inspection in preparation for Buddha's Birthday on the 8th.
According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters on the 4th, this on-site inspection focused on checking fire vulnerability factors at the temple and verifying the proper operation of fire-fighting facilities.
Fire prevention safety education was also conducted simultaneously to ensure that related personnel can respond quickly in case of emergencies.
Park Geun-o, head of the Fire Safety Headquarters, said, "As the dry weather continues in spring, small sparks such as cigarette butts and trash burning can escalate into large fires," adding, "Please pay special attention when using fire sources such as candles, electricity, and gas, and actively cooperate to prevent damage to traditional temples and cultural assets."
Meanwhile, the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters plans to establish a proactive response system by conducting special fire watch duty at fire stations from 6 p.m. on the 7th to 9 a.m. on the 9th in preparation for Buddha's Birthday.
