[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Local media reported that the Japanese government has decided to send Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa to the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol, scheduled for the 10th, and notified the National Assembly on the 2nd.


The media stated, "The government is placing its hopes on President-elect Yoon, who is proactive in improving Korea-Japan relations, and from the position of demanding concrete actions on the issues of forced laborers (laborers conscripted during the Japanese colonial period) and comfort women, decided to send Foreign Minister Hayashi as a second-best option instead of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio attending."


The Nihon Keizai Shimbun also reported on the 3rd, "The government plans to dispatch Foreign Minister Hayashi to the inauguration ceremony of next President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 10th."
