[Asia Economy reporters Naju-seok and Kwon Hyun-ji] Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, urged President Moon Jae-in to exercise his veto power on the Criminal Procedure Act, which centers on separating the prosecution's indictment and investigation rights, on the 3rd.

At the People Power Party's parliamentary meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Kwon said, "The only thing left now is for President Moon to exercise his veto power," adding, "President Moon must exercise his veto power against the 악법 of 검수완박."

He said, "I hope he shows a presidential demeanor even once before leaving office," and added, "This is not the first or second time we have had vain hopes, but today, as we face the last Cabinet meeting, I am asking for this one last time."

Floor Leader Kwon held the Blue House and the Democratic Party responsible for the 검수완박 law. He condemned, "Despite the opposition of countless citizens, the unprecedented constitutional manipulation 악법 of 검수완박, which imposes all burdens on the people and grants impunity to criminals, is about to be forcibly passed in today's plenary session," and said, "President Moon, who is responsible for protecting the constitution, is proving himself to be the executive producer of this entire farcical drama by manipulating the Cabinet meeting schedule unfairly."

He claimed, "The collective evasion mentality of the Moon Jae-in administration and the Democratic Party, who admit to the crime but refuse punishment, is the very essence of 검수완박."
