[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘KLPGA Championship Champ’ Kim Arim (27, SBI Savings Bank) has risen to 39th in the world rankings.
In the weekly women's golf world rankings officially announced on the morning of the 3rd (Korean time), she received 2.38 points, jumping 10 places from 49th last week. She accumulated points by securing a 3-stroke victory at the Chris F&C KLPGA Championship, the first major of the 2022 season on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, which concluded on the 1st at Ildong Lake Golf Course in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province. This is her third KLPGA Tour win in total, coming 2 years and 10 months after her victory at the Moon Young Queens Park Championship in July 2019.
Ko Jin-young (27) remains 1st (9.85 points), Nelly Korda (USA) 2nd (8.43 points), and Lydia Ko (New Zealand) 3rd (6.32 points). In Korea, Kim Hyo-joo (27, Lotte) is 7th (5.07 points), Park In-bee (34, KB Financial Group) 8th (4.98 points), Kim Se-young (29, Mediheal) 10th (4.77 points), and Lee Jeong-eun6 (26, Daebang Construction) is 23rd (3.03 points). Marina Alex (USA), who won the previous day’s LPGA Tour DIO Implant LA Open, jumped 33 places to 28th (2.84 points).
