Population Decline Concerns... Geochang-gun Holds Interim Report Meeting on Local Extinction Response Fund Investment Plan Mid-term Report Meeting on the Investment Plan for the Regional Extinction Response Fund.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 2nd, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a 'Mid-term Report Meeting on the Establishment of the Geochang-gun Local Extinction Response Fund Investment Plan' attended by about 30 people including Acting Governor Kim Tae-hee, directors, department heads, and contractors.


The mid-term report meeting was held to report on 18 local extinction response fund investment projects discovered by each department and contractors to respond to population decline, and to revise and supplement them through Q&A.


The discovered projects consist of necessary initiatives for Geochang-gun to become a city with population growth, including industrial-related fields such as elevators, education facility-related fields such as complex education, lifelong learning, and youth learning, and tourism resource development fields such as Susungdae, Changpoweon, and Gamaksan.


The report meeting proceeded with the intermediate process necessary for establishing the local extinction response fund investment plan, including revisions and supplements to the investment projects discovered by each department and feasibility and practicality reviews of the contractor's proposed projects.


Acting Governor Kim Tae-hee of Geochang-gun said, "We need to lay the groundwork to achieve population growth by promoting the expansion of various infrastructure and the development of tourism resources," and added, "I hope each department will continue to discover essential projects needed to secure the local extinction response fund, which will continue for 10 years starting this year."
