KB Kookmin Card announced on the 2nd that from the 10th of this month until the end of the year, it will provide the online-based big data analysis integrated platform "Dataroot" free of charge to 228 basic local governments nationwide (including Jeju and Seogwipo City).
This measure was prepared to participate in solving the national issue of revitalizing the local economy and supporting small business owners who have suffered from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to assist local governments in quickly and accurately analyzing local consumption status and establishing efficient policies for economic revitalization based on big data to overcome COVID-19.
In the past, card companies have provided only some analysis data according to local government requests or provided consumption trend analysis reports on a one-off basis, but this is the first time in the industry that a visualized big data analysis platform itself is fully opened and provided free of charge to local governments.
The Dataroot platform provided free of charge this time allows analysis of card big data in an integrated online environment without time and space constraints, and users can also use visualized reports and various ancillary services, enhancing data accessibility.
In particular, local governments using the platform can utilize analysis solutions based on KB Kookmin Card’s diverse and vast data analysis, including demographic information and merchant information, to access big data thematic analysis and visualized reports related to trends and status of commercial districts and regions.
For commercial district analysis, data analyzing consumption trends occurring in local government jurisdiction commercial districts by period, region, and industry are provided, including ▲commercial district status ▲commercial district evaluation ▲commercial district comparison. For regional analysis, data supporting understanding of regional economic trends by various industries from large retail stores to traditional markets, including regional consumption status and traditional market status, are provided.
Reports for each area are updated weekly or monthly, making it easy to grasp recent consumption trends, and detailed customized analysis is possible by specifying detailed analysis conditions by region, period, and industry according to needs.
Separately from the free provision of Dataroot, KB Kookmin Card plans to additionally support data analysis upon consultation for individual big data requests from local governments in the future, such as thematic analysis analyzing specific topics and trends, and tourism and event analysis analyzing ▲visitor characteristics ▲event effects ▲preferences related to local festivals and commercial district revitalization.
