[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Agricultural machinery company Daedong Group is participating in the "9th International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE)" to showcase new products such as unmanned lawn mowers, smart robot chairs, and electric golf carts. This move is interpreted as an effort to strengthen its status as a specialized smart mobility brand beyond being the number one agricultural machinery company.

Daedong announced on the 1st that it will participate in the 9th International Electric Vehicle Expo held from the 3rd to the 7th of this month at the International Convention Center and Jungmun Tourist Complex in Seogwipo City, Jeju, together with its group affiliates Daedong Gear and Daedong Mobility.

The unmanned lawn mower "Robot Mower" exhibited by Daedong at this event is a facility management electric mobility device that performs weeding work based on autonomous driving. The smart robot chair "Momo" maximizes ride comfort and safety by using a 4-wheel electric wheel drive system equipped with collision prevention functions and a black box. It also enhances operational convenience by maximizing the grip and touch sensation of buttons and levers. The electric golf cart features a white body with the C.I color, vermilion, applied to increase sophistication, and the company explains that driving performance and ride comfort have been greatly improved compared to previous models.

Daedong Group plans to leap forward as a smart mobility platform group by mass-producing various electric mobility products for agricultural and non-agricultural use based on five mobility platforms (ultra-compact, compact, mid-size, large, E-bike). Currently, it is developing smart mobility products by establishing strategic partnerships with leading domestic mobility companies and institutions such as Kakao Mobility, Future EV, and KAIST. From the second half of this year, it plans to mass-produce E-bikes and launch them in domestic and international markets.

Lee Poong-woo, head of Daedong Customer Biz Division, said, "This is the first time that Daedong and its affiliates have jointly participated in a mobility-related exhibition," adding, "We will formalize the smart mobility new business as a new core strategy of the group alongside smart agricultural machinery and smart farms, beyond the title of being the number one agricultural machinery company in Korea."
