"Moon Ultimately Cannot Give Up Dictatorship and Power"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Presidential Transition Committee's Blue House Relocation Task Force (TF) addressed former President Moon Jae-in, who described the relocation of the presidential office and the opening of the Blue House as "inappropriate," saying, "As the last president of dictatorship and authoritarian power, we hope you show respect to the people during the remainder of your term."
On the 29th, the TF stated in a press release, "As the incumbent president, Moon should seek ways to support President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's efforts to fulfill the promise of opening the Blue House, which he himself abandoned under the pretext of security. This is the last duty he owes."
The TF emphasized, "In 2012, Moon, who said, 'The Blue House, which succeeded the Governor-General's residence and Gyeongmudae, was a symbol of dictatorship and authoritarian power in our history,' ultimately failed to abandon that dictatorship and authoritarian power and will end his term without returning the Blue House to the people."
They continued, "On May 10, 2017, Moon promised, 'I will abolish the authoritarian presidential culture and, once preparations are complete, leave the current Blue House to open the Gwanghwamun presidential era.' Yet, just over ten days before the end of his term, he denied the promises he made to the people through two presidential elections by saying he found the relocation of the presidential office and opening of the Blue House 'inappropriate.'"
