Gala Games Hosts Large-Scale Event in Blockchain Village Management Game 'Town Star'

Blockchain game platform Gala Games announced on the 29th that it will hold a large-scale event, "May Mayhem," in its blockchain game Town Star. Players worldwide will compete for a total prize of 2 million USD.

Town Star is the first P&E game developed directly by Gala Games and is free for anyone to play. Players produce and sell crops such as wheat and grapes in Town Star to build their own villages. In addition, players can earn prizes through weekly competitions comparing crop and product sales scores without NFTs. Those who own NFTs can also earn rewards through daily quests.

This tournament event will be held every Tuesday from the 3rd to the 24th (local time) via competitive servers. The total tournament prize is 2 million USD (approximately 2.5 billion KRW), with Gala (GALA) tokens worth 500,000 USD awarded weekly to up to 2,000 players. Gala tokens are utility tokens within the Gala Games ecosystem and are used to purchase item NFTs in games developed and serviced by Gala Games.

Furthermore, Gala Games revealed future update plans for Town Star. According to the company, the in-game currency "Gems" will be released soon. Players will be able to enjoy various game content, including server passes, using Gems. Gems are general game currency, not virtual assets.

Additionally, a new reward system will be introduced. Until now, players earned fixed Town Star coins called "TOWN" by completing daily quests. However, under the new point-based reward system, TOWN will be distributed differentially based on points associated with owned NFTs. In other words, the more NFTs a player owns or the more special and rare the NFTs are, the greater the expected rewards.
