[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] A fire broke out at around 1:05 a.m. on the 28th in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Buwon-dong, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, causing about 100 residents to panic and evacuate.
The sprinklers activated and evacuation announcements were made, resulting in no casualties, but three vehicles including a Grandeur were completely burned.
Seven other vehicles were partially burned or scorched, with the fire department estimating damages at 190 million won.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, firefighters from a nearby fire station responded after a resident reported smoke rising from a car hood, and the flames were extinguished around 2:27 a.m.
The police and fire authorities believe the fire started in a Grandeur passenger car parked on the second basement level of the apartment parking lot and spread to nearby vehicles, and they are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
