Democratic Gwangju Metropolitan Council Primary Candidates Confirmed... May 1-2 Primary Election

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju Metropolitan City Party announced the candidates for the Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Gwangju City Council) primary election on the 28th.

By electoral district, the candidates are Dong-gu 1: Lee Hong-il, Choi Geum-dong, Hong Gi-wol; Dong-gu 2: Park Mi-jung, Choi Yeon-hwa; Seo-gu 1: Kang Su-hoon, Jang Jae-sung; Seo-gu 2: Myeong Jin, Jeong Soon-ae; Seo-gu 3: Na Gwang-yeop, Lee Myeong-no, Choi Young-hwan; Seo-gu 4: Kim Gil-won, Kim Sang-hoon, Shin Jeong-ho, Shim Cheol-ui.

Nam-gu 1: Park Sang-won, Seo Im-seok, Jeong Young-su, Cheon Sin-ae; Nam-gu 2: Kim Jeom-gi, Park Hee-yul; Nam-gu 3: Bae Jin-ha, Im Mi-ran; Buk-gu 1: Ban Jae-shin, Ahn Pyeong-hwan; Buk-gu 2: Jeong Da-eun; Buk-gu 3: Shin Su-jeong, Choi Ki-young; Buk-gu 4: Lee Gwan-sik, Lee Jeong-cheol, Jo Seok-ho; Buk-gu 5: Shim Chang-wook; Buk-gu 6: Kim Na-yoon.

Gwangsan-gu 1: Park Se-hyang, Im I-yeop, Choi Ji-hyun; Gwangsan-gu 2: Byeon Seong-il, Jeong Mu-chang; Gwangsan-gu 3: Kang Jang-won, Kim Jae-ho, Park Pil-soon; Gwangsan-gu 4: Kim Taek-gon, Lee Gwi-sun, Lee Hyeong-cheol; Gwangsan-gu 5: Park Su-gi, Lee Young-hoon, Lee Jeong-hwan are competing.

Dong-gu 2, Seo-gu 2, Buk-gu 6, and Gwangsan-gu 1 electoral districts are female competitive districts, while Seo-gu 3, Buk-gu 2, Buk-gu 5, and Gwangsan-gu 4 electoral districts are youth competitive districts.

The primary election will be held over two days from the 1st to the 2nd of next month, and the primary method is a party member primary conducted solely by voting of party members with voting rights.

The youth competitive district primaries for Seo-gu 3 and Gwangsan-gu 4, which are conducted by citizen jury voting, were held on the 27th and 28th, respectively.
