Promotion of Businesses Contributing to Price Stability with Affordable Prices
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will designate new Good Price Stores and reorganize existing ones.
The designation of Good Price Stores aims to widely promote businesses that have contributed to price stability by offering affordable prices, thereby spreading a culture of coexistence between consumers and small business owners.
Good Price Stores are selected based on comprehensive evaluations including prices lower than the regional average, hygiene, cleanliness, quality, and service.
Gokseong-gun plans to select new Good Price Stores this year while also reorganizing the 16 existing Good Price Stores.
Through this, they intend to provide practical support to Good Price Stores and enhance the system’s operation and activation.
New applications will be accepted from May 2 to May 16.
Eligible businesses include personal service sectors such as dining, beauty salons, laundry, and lodging.
However, businesses that have received administrative sanctions within the last two years, have overdue local taxes of 1 million KRW or more on three or more occasions as of the application date, have been closed for business within the past year, have been operating for less than six months, or are franchise stores are excluded.
The 16 previously designated Good Price Stores will be reviewed through reorganization to determine whether they will continue to be selected.
If they fail to maintain affordable prices after designation, they must return the Good Price Store title.
For new designations and re-selections, Gokseong-gun will conduct evaluations based on 11 detailed items across four categories: price, hygiene and cleanliness, quality and service, and public interest.
After on-site inspections, 20 businesses will be finally designated as Good Price Stores in May.
A Gokseong-gun official stated, “Designated Good Price Stores will receive various benefits such as the attachment of a Good Price Store plaque, support of 500,000 KRW for volume-based waste bags and service improvements, and promotion on the Gokseong-gun website and official SNS.”
