Enhancement of Group Chat Recruitment Function
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Danggeun Market (co-CEOs Kim Yong-hyun and Kim Jae-hyun) announced on the 28th that it will reopen the 'Gachihaeyo' service, which had taken a break due to social distancing measures, after revamping it.
'Gachihaeyo' is a service where neighbors help each other and share valuable experiences by doing tasks that are difficult to do alone or engaging in various activities together. It is a channel for a wide range of activities based on hobbies or interests, from everyday activities such as park walks and exploring local restaurants to exercise, games, study groups, hiking, and volunteer work.
In this revamp, the system has been enhanced to allow setting the recruitment age, gender, and number of participants who can join group chats according to the purpose or nature of the activity. For example, it is now possible to specify recruitment targets more effectively, such as novice mothers in their 30s who want to share parenting concerns with peers, male office workers in their 20s who want to play basketball at a nearby park, or people in their 40s and 50s who want to join hiking groups with neighbors of the same age.
The date, time, and location of activities can also be set and announced in advance. Previously, neighbors had to coordinate specific meeting plans through chat, but now faster and easier connections are expected through the date and location information displayed prominently on the activity posts. The revamped Danggeun Market 'Gachihaeyo' service will start in the Seoul area this month and expand nationwide within the year.
Kim Seo-eun, the planner of Danggeun Market’s Neighborhood Life service, said, "Even during the break of Gachihaeyo, there has been a steady demand in Neighborhood Life for neighbors to engage in various online and offline activities together. With this renewed opening, we will continue to develop the service so that more neighbors can share empathy and activities together and enjoy a richer neighborhood life through the more convenient Gachihaeyo."
