[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The festival for Busan gateball enthusiasts, the "33rd Busan Metropolitan City Mayor's Citizen Gateball Tournament," was held on the 27th.
The tournament, held at the gateball stadium in Samnak Ecological Park, saw about 450 enthusiasts from 46 club teams representing 16 district and county sports councils compete fiercely.
The citizen gateball tournament, held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, became a more welcome and meaningful festival than ever, fueled by expectations for the full lifting of social distancing and the transition to endemic.
The event was attended by figures from various fields, including Jang In-hwa, president of the Busan Sports Council, and Yang Gap-seok, president of the Busan Gateball Association.
Jang In-hwa, president of the Busan Sports Council, said, "As this is the first tournament in three years, I hope it has become a place that brings harmony and vitality to gateball enthusiasts."
The city sports council plans to actively promote various tournaments and support projects to restore the stagnated daily life and invigorate the sports community.
