Ulsan Bus Route Additions and Increased Service Transport Plan Changes ... Restoration of 'COVID-19 Reduced' Routes

Ulsan City Approves Eugene Bus Modification, Repairs, and Sindoyeogaek Hiring of Unemployed

Two New City Routes Established, 12 Buses Added, 6 Buses Added to 6 Routes with Reductions

Ulsan Bus Route Additions and Increased Service Transport Plan Changes ... Restoration of 'COVID-19 Reduced' Routes Ulsan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The operation plan for public buses in Ulsan, including the establishment of new city bus routes and the addition of vehicles, will be partially adjusted.

Ulsan City approved the application for changes to the passenger automobile transportation business plan submitted by Eugene Bus on the 26th and decided to implement it from May 2.

The approval includes the establishment of two new city bus routes and the addition of 12 vehicles required for operation, based on the premise of hiring all 30 unemployed drivers from Shindo Passenger Transport.

Additionally, six vehicles on six routes (No. 122, 205, 235, 422, 426, 715) that had been reduced due to COVID-19 have been restored to allow normal operation with the approved number of vehicles.

The newly established routes are No. 358 and No. 207.

No. 358 operates with seven vehicles at intervals of 40 to 50 minutes along the route ‘Samnam~Jakcheonjeong Entrance~Ulsan Station~Bancheon Hyundai A~Cheonsang~Guyeong-ri~Daun-dong~Ulsan Technopark~Innovation City’.

No. 207 operates with five vehicles at intervals of 30 to 60 minutes along the route ‘Taehwagang Station~Intercity Bus Terminal~Culture and Arts Center~Beonyeonggyo Bridge~Old Market~Jung-gu Office~Boksan 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center~Seongan Entrance~Korea Electrical Safety Corporation~Oesol Middle School~Dongcheonseo-ro~Buk-gu Homeplus~Dalcheon’.

Ulsan City expects that the establishment of these routes will improve regional transportation connectivity by expanding public transportation infrastructure in Jung-gu Innovation City, Taehwagang Station linkage, and Buk-gu Dalcheon area, which had been insufficient.

The new routes will commence operation within three months from the approval date, considering the delivery schedule of the vehicles from the manufacturers.

The Shindo Passenger Transport drivers hired by Eugene Bus have completed physical examinations, detailed driving tests, and new driver training, and will begin operating six vehicles restored from COVID-19 reductions starting May 2.

Additionally, four vehicles that were temporarily reduced due to crew members testing positive for the Omicron variant from March 25 to the end of April will also be operated. Depending on Eugene Bus’s work situation, these drivers may be assigned to other routes as substitute drivers.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “As the spread of COVID-19 decreases and daily life recovery accelerates, this is an opportunity to restore previously reduced routes and improve passenger convenience.”
