As yellow dust originating from the northeastern region of China flowed into South Korea, yellow dust was observed in Baengnyeongdo from 11:40 PM the previous day, and in Incheon and Seoul from 3:00 AM on the same day.

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Morning temperatures have dropped significantly compared to the previous day, especially in the central region, and strong winds will make the commute to work and school somewhat chilly.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 27th at 7 a.m., temperatures are as follows: Seoul 13.4°C, Incheon 12.7°C, Suwon 13.5°C, Chuncheon 9.9°C, Gangneung 13.5°C, Cheongju 13.5°C, Daejeon 11.5°C, Jeonju 12.3°C, Gwangju 14.7°C, Daegu 16.6°C, Busan 16.7°C, Ulsan 16.7°C, Changwon 16.6°C.

The daytime high temperatures will be Seoul 23°C, Daejeon 23°C, Gwangju 25°C, Daegu 22°C, Busan 20°C, with most regions nationwide remaining between 16°C and 25°C. Until the 28th, the temperature difference between day and night will be large, ranging from 15°C to 20°C, especially inland, so health management should be carefully observed.

Yellow dust originating from the Inner Mongolian Plateau yesterday afternoon is causing fine dust to be observed in the metropolitan area, Gangwon, and parts of Chungnam.

As of 4 a.m., fine dust (PM10) concentrations (㎍/㎥) are Baengnyeongdo 259, Gwanaksan (Gwacheon) 236, Yeonpyeongdo 191, Ganghwa 156, Seoul 150, Anmyeondo (Taean) 127, Bukchuncheon 95, among others.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Yellow dust will affect the central region and Jeolla area until the morning of the 27th, so the elderly and those with respiratory diseases should take special care of their health."

Today, fine dust levels will be 'bad' in the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and North Jeolla, while other regions will show 'moderate' levels. For a brief period in the morning, the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and North Jeolla will experience 'very bad' levels, and Gangwon, Gyeongsang, Gwangju, and South Jeolla will see 'bad' levels.

Until 9 a.m., dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters will occur in the southern inland areas of North Gyeongsang and the Gyeongnam region, as well as some inland areas of Jeolla, while other southern regions will experience fog with visibility less than 1 km.

In the East Sea central offshore area, where a wind and wave advisory is in effect, winds will blow very strongly at 8 to 16 m/s until the afternoon, and waves will be very high at 2.0 to 4.0 meters. Until this morning, strong winds and high waves are also expected in the West Sea, so vessels navigating these waters should exercise caution.
