Hampyeong-gun Conducts 4th COVID-19 Vaccine Dose for Those Aged 60 and Over

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, began the 4th additional COVID-19 vaccination for residents aged 60 and over starting from the 25th.

According to the county on the 26th, about 85% of recent severe cases and about 95% of deaths are concentrated in the age group of 60 and older, increasing the necessity of additional vaccinations to prevent severe illness and death.

The 4th vaccination can be administered only after 4 months (120 days) have passed since the 3rd dose, and high-risk groups (nursing hospitals/facilities and immunocompromised individuals) can receive it after 3 months (90 days).

Those wishing to be vaccinated on the day must contact the public health center or medical institution by phone to register on the preliminary list, and advance reservations can be made through the website or by phone reservation (1339, public health center, eup/myeon office).

Vaccination is possible even if there is a history of COVID-19 infection; confirmed patients can be vaccinated after isolation is lifted but must postpone until symptoms disappear.

Jung Myunghee, head of the public health center, urged residents to actively participate, saying, “The 4th vaccination is essential to prevent severe illness and death among the elderly due to COVID-19.”
