[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it has resumed the ‘Gwangju Dong-gu-Daegu Moonlight City Tour,’ a unique cultural tourism product of Dong-gu, targeting tourists from Daegu since the 23rd, following the lifting of social distancing measures.

The ‘Gwangju Dong-gu-Daegu Moonlight City Tour’ is a project established to revitalize tourism exchange between the two cities. It was held every Saturday from September to December last year, and this year it is regularly operated on the first Saturday of every month as a tour program.

The regular Moonlight City Tour course consists of four themes: ▲Dong-gu Healing ▲Dong-gu History ▲Dong-gu Youth ▲Chungjang Festival. The ‘Dong-gu Healing Course’ conducted this time was centered around major tourist attractions such as Mudeungsan Jangsimsa area, the National Asia Culture Center, Jeonil Building 245, and Dongmyeong-dong Cafe Street.

A Daegu citizen who participated in the tour said, “Gwangju is rich not only in artistic resources such as the Culture Center but also the Jeju 4·3 traveling exhibition ‘Dongbaeki Pieomsuda’ currently held at the center was particularly impressive,” adding, “The drip coffee I had while experiencing the Dongmyeong-dong Cafe Street was so delicious that I want to visit again.”

A Dong-gu official said, “With the resumption of this tour, we expect it to be an opportunity to introduce Dong-gu’s attractive tourism resources to more citizens of Daegu,” and added, “We will continue to operate various tour programs to actively promote tourism resources and develop unique tourism products exclusive to Dong-gu to create a future-oriented stay-type cultural tourism city.”
