[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 25th, President Moon Jae-in pointed out that Han Dong-hoon, the nominee for Minister of Justice, who said he would "definitely block" the Complete Removal of Prosecutorial Investigation Rights (Geomsu Wanbak) law, used a "dangerous expression."
In an interview with former anchor Sohn Seok-hee broadcast on JTBC on the evening of the 25th, President Moon said, "Using an expression like 'definitely block' is inappropriate."
President Moon noted that "It is possible to say that one does not support the ongoing separation of investigation rights between the police and prosecution or that a more thorough process is needed," but he pointed out that the expression used by nominee Han himself is dangerous.
Earlier, on the 13th, nominee Han had stated regarding the Geomsu Wanbak law, "The passage of this bill must definitely be blocked."
