'IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund' Assets Under Management Surpass 600 Billion Won

'IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund' Assets Under Management Surpass 600 Billion Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] IBK Asset Management announced that the assets under management of the 'IBK Plain Vanilla EMP (ETF Managed Portfolio) Fund' have surpassed 600 billion KRW.

Launched on January 14, 2019, the 'IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund' has now exceeded three years. Despite the public fund market being in a slump, it achieved the remarkable result of raising over 600 billion KRW. This growth is outstanding compared to other EMP funds. The risk rating of the IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund was downgraded from level 3 (somewhat high risk) to level 4 (moderate risk) due to a decrease in standard deviation (volatility).

EMP is a strategy that seeks asset allocation through index funds (ETFs) that are listed and traded. In a rapidly changing market, the 'IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund' has demonstrated excellent growth based on stable performance and trust, leading the EMP fund sector in the asset management industry.

Additionally, in July last year, the 'IBK Income Vanilla EMP Fund,' which invests in global income assets, was launched as a follow-up. Compared to the IBK Plain Vanilla EMP Fund, it offers increased stability and a lower target return. This product focuses more on preserving assets rather than growing them, aiming for stable performance with less fluctuation and higher returns compared to market interest rates. Ultimately, it is suitable for those who are dissatisfied with bond or deposit yields but find stocks or real estate too risky.

With the rise in interest rates this year, steady interest in income products has increased, leading to an expansion of sales channels for the 'IBK Income Vanilla EMP Fund' to Hana Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Busan Bank, and Gyeongnam Bank. This is expected to be another hit for IBK Asset Management's EMP funds.
