[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Former girl group 'Rania' member Kim Yumin revealed the story behind starting internet broadcasting while nine months pregnant.
On the 23rd, Kim Yumin said on MBN's entertainment program 'Sokpuri Show Dongchimi', "I was active as a member of Rania in 2016 and naturally met my ex-husband," adding, "We dated for about a year, and I became pregnant while still active in the girl group. My ex-husband was a senior idol, but fortunately, he had already finished his activities."
She continued, "While living the girl group life, I had no money on hand, and although my ex-husband worked at a small company and had some income, it was small," explaining, "So, after becoming pregnant, we held the wedding ceremony in the sixth month."
Kim Yumin said, "I started internet broadcasting at my ex-husband's suggestion to earn money," adding, "At that time, I was nine months pregnant but hid it while broadcasting. The internet broadcasting went better than expected. Then, at some point, my ex-husband thought about quitting his job."
She revealed that she sent all the money earned from internet broadcasting to her husband. Meanwhile, she tried to give her parents 200,000 won as pocket money out of gratitude and apology, but her husband got angry. Kim Yumin lamented, "He didn't like any of it. He said that saving money was important and asked when we would buy a car or a house if we gave pocket money." This incident made Kim Yumin reconsider her relationship with her husband.
Kim Yumin also shared that when her husband came home from work, her mother always prepared different side dishes, but he never once said thank you to her mother-in-law. She said, "After giving birth, I was staying at my parents' house. Following that incident, my ex-husband gradually stopped coming to see me, and we naturally lived apart. Eventually, we got divorced."
