[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Innovative technology company CJ Logistics is further strengthening its logistics cooperation system with ‘Ranking Dakcom’ based on advanced technology convergence-type fulfillment and cold chain systems.
CJ Logistics announced on the 24th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a strategic logistics partnership with ‘Foodnamu,’ the operator of Korea’s No. 1 healthy convenience food platform ‘Ranking Dakcom.’ The two companies agreed to enhance delivery services tailored to customer expectations and expand logistics operation scale. They will actively cooperate to provide high-quality products to customers through CJ Logistics’ convergence-type fulfillment and cold chain systems.
As part of delivery enhancement, CJ Logistics plans to expand the service area of Ranking Dakcom’s ‘Express Delivery’ service. ‘Express Delivery’ is Ranking Dakcom’s service that delivers orders on the same day or early morning based on customer order information. Currently, it is provided only in some areas of the metropolitan area. CJ Logistics will expand this service to the entire metropolitan area and the Chungcheong region by utilizing fulfillment centers specialized in e-commerce logistics and dedicated delivery personnel, and will continue to expand delivery areas in the future.
CJ Logistics is also raising the level of parcel delivery services through ‘convergence-type fulfillment,’ which links advanced logistics technology with nationwide parcel infrastructure. Since the complex logistics processes are integrated and performed at fulfillment centers and the densely established parcel infrastructure nationwide increases logistics efficiency, products ordered by 24:00 depending on the order channel can be delivered the next day. Unlike general e-commerce logistics where only customers near logistics hubs or delivery camps benefit, customers nationwide can experience the same delivery benefits.
Additionally, the two companies agreed to cooperate in expanding the scale of logistics operations. They will build a system interface between the two companies so that order data and logistics data generated from various channels such as Naver, their own mall, and external malls are linked, and CJ Logistics plans to integrate and perform logistics accordingly.
CJ Logistics provides high-quality logistics services through a cold chain fulfillment center specialized in low-temperature products. Located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, this center has a total floor area of 20,000㎡ and is equipped with refrigerated and frozen storage facilities to maintain the best freshness of products. It also applies the IoT-based ‘Cool Guardian’ system to manage temperature and humidity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
CJ Logistics plans to improve logistics quality through advanced fulfillment and actively develop customer-tailored delivery services. Shin Youngsoo, head of CJ Logistics’ Parcel & E-commerce Division, said, “As an innovative technology company, we will provide optimal logistics services based on advanced technology convergence-type fulfillment,” adding, “We will develop differentiated delivery services tailored to customer expectations and continuously expand service areas to offer customers a new delivery experience.”
Meanwhile, Foodnamu’s chicken breast platform Ranking Dakcom sells various chicken breast products, diet lunch boxes, beef, and other high-protein health foods. It offers various services tailored to customer convenience, such as same-day and early morning delivery and paid memberships. In addition, customers can easily compare and purchase from over 1,300 brands, making it popular among many dieters and meal planners.
