The Democratic Party Emergency Response Committee announced on the 23rd via a text message to reporters that former Minister Park conveyed her decision not to run after deep consideration.
Accordingly, the Democratic Party's primary for the June 1 local election Seoul mayoral candidate will be contested among three candidates: former party leader Song Young-gil, Assemblyman Park Joo-min, and former Assemblywoman Kim Jin-ae.
Earlier, former Minister Park posted an article titled "Mother and Politics" on her Facebook. She wrote, "It is truly difficult to provide an answer to this situation right now." Along with the post, she shared a photo of herself caring for her mother, who is in a transparent state.
