Police Receive Autopsy Findings Suggesting Suspicious Homicide Circumstances

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police have launched an investigation after a woman in her 60s was found dead under suspicious circumstances suggesting homicide in an apartment in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

According to the Gangseo Police Station on the 23rd, a visiting social worker reported at 3:46 p.m. the previous day that they could not contact the elderly woman. Upon police arrival, the woman in her 60s, identified as Ms. A, was found deceased inside the apartment.

Ms. A was living alone and was known to be a low-income basic welfare recipient.

The police received a verbal opinion from the autopsy indicating signs of homicide, but have not identified any suspects.

A police official stated, "The body has been handed over to the bereaved family, and investigations including inquiries with acquaintances are ongoing."
