Honam University Department of Culinary Arts Visits Deokam High School for Admission Promotion Activities

Professor Lee Sun-ho, BUM of the Department of Food Service and Culinary Arts, also identified the desired majors of Deokam High School students and conducted counseling, and plans to hold an admission briefing session in June.

Meanwhile, the Department of Food Service and Culinary Arts operates seven clubs, contributing to strengthening the major competencies and entrepreneurial capabilities of enrolled students. ‘Sowugyou’ was established in 2017 under the guidance of Professor Lee Sang-jin, a major in food processing and food service venture start-up menu development, and has won awards in start-up menu development, various contests, and cooking competitions. In addition, they operate a pop-up restaurant with start-up menus developed during club activities, as well as volunteer talent-sharing services at welfare centers.

Also, ‘C&S Entertainment’ is a multi-study group club established in April 2014, consisting of cooking menu development, dessert menu development, corporate contests, and start-up sections.

Under the guidance of Professor Kim Sung-soo, a former national cooking team member, they have achieved awards at world cooking competitions in Germany, Luxembourg, Singapore, as well as domestic and international cooking contests, corporate contests, and start-up competitions. This year, they proved the reputation of the Department of Food Service and Culinary Arts by winning the Seoul Mayor’s Award (ministerial level) at the ‘13th Meeting of Traditional Food and Traditional Liquor.’
