Korean Air Celebrates 2nd Anniversary of Card Launch... "Offering Various Goods and Mileage"


[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korean Air announced that it will hold a "Get Ready for Summer Event" starting on the 21st, offering various benefits such as Korean Air mileage and special goods to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the "Korean Air Card."


The "Korean Air Card" is the first airline co-branded credit card in Korea, launched in April 2020 through a partnership between Korean Air and Hyundai Card. Compared to other mileage cards, it offers a higher accumulation rate and a variety of services specialized for airline use. Thanks to its solid product strength, the "Korean Air Card" has gained great popularity, with issuance increasing by 175% year-on-year as of the first quarter.


To repay such support, Korean Air has prepared a 2nd-anniversary promotion along with limited-edition goods. This event, held until June 30, consists of two parts: the "Mileage & Goods" event and the "Korean Air Card True Fan Certification Quiz" event, which customers can participate in depending on whether they have usage records on the Korean Air Card.


The "Mileage & Goods Event" targets customers who have been issued a "Korean Air Card" but have had no usage in the past six months. After applying for the event, anyone who reaches a spending amount of 150,000 KRW by June 30 will receive special goods, the "Korean Air X Hyundai Card Beach Towel," and mileage gifts according to the card type. The "030 Card" and "070 Card" will receive 5,000 miles, while the "150 Card" and "The First" card issued to Korean Air elite members will receive 7,000 miles.


The "Korean Air Card True Fan Certification Quiz Event" is for customers who have consistently supported the "Korean Air Card." Any customer with card usage in the past six months can participate in the quiz for a chance to win prizes. Prizes include 10,000 miles for 1st place (5 winners), 3,000 miles for 2nd place (100 winners), and the "Korean Air X Hyundai Card Beach Towel" for 3rd place (1,000 winners).


Since its launch, the "Korean Air Card" has attracted much attention with various and unique promotions. The HL7530 name tag goods, jointly produced by Hyundai Card and Korean Air, achieved a sold-out legend immediately after release. Last year, to celebrate the 1st anniversary, a special "Korean Air Card Exclusive Flight (No Landing Sightseeing Flight)" was operated exclusively for Korean Air Card customers.


Korean Air plans to continue offering special services and promotions that provide diverse benefits and enjoyment for "Korean Air Card" users in the future.
