[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province, is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘Technical Doctor 119 Support Project’ aimed at resolving on-site technical difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The recruitment has been ongoing since the 18th.

The project is divided into two stages: Stage 1 involves on-site technical support through technical consulting to analyze the causes of technical difficulties and solve problems, and Stage 2 provides SME technical support such as prototype production and process improvement using the supported technology.

The support targets manufacturing SMEs with business sites located in Gimcheon. The technical doctor will visit the site up to 10 times to provide direct technical consulting.

The technical doctors participating in the project consist of experts such as senior researchers or higher from national or local government research institutes or public institutions, directors or higher responsible for research and technology development in industrial companies, and personnel with over 20 years of research and development experience.

A Gimcheon City official stated, “Through customized support for companies, we expect to induce market-oriented technological advancement, which will directly improve profitability at production sites and enhance competitiveness.”
