EU Standing Chair Visiting Kyiv: "History Does Not Forget War Crimes"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Charles Michel, the President of the European Union (EU) Council, visited Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

According to local media, on the 20th (local time), Michel posted a photo taken at Kyiv train station on his social media account and stated, "Today, I am in Kyiv, the heart of a free and democratic Europe."

He later visited the outskirts city of Borodianka and posted on social media, "History will not forget the war crimes committed here."

Michel's visit to Kyiv was not announced in advance. It appears to be a visit to express support for Ukraine, which is resisting Russian forces.

Michel is expected to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky late in the afternoon.
