Gyeongnam Office of Education-Korea GM-Gimhae City-Changwon Munsung University Business Agreement Gyeongnam Office of Education, Korea GM, Gimhae City, and Changwon Moonsung University signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement for the Future Automobile Sector Vocational Education Innovation District.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 20th, the Gyeongnam Office of Education signed a business agreement with Korea GM, Gimhae City, and Changwon Munsung University to develop industry-academia education programs and promote mutual development in the future automobile sector of the Gimhae district.


▲ Joint development and operation of industry-academia education programs for nurturing talent in the future automobile sector ▲ Establishment of employment and start-up foundations through industry-academia cooperation such as recruitment of outstanding talent and student enrollment ▲ Matters related to field training and employment support for participating students ▲ Collaboration in utilizing facilities and experimental/practical equipment among institutions to revitalize industry-academia education programs.


The agreement ceremony held at the Korea GM Changwon Plant was attended by Choi Byungheon, Director of School Policy Bureau at Gyeongnam Office of Education, Jo Jeongo, Head of Korea GM Headquarters, Ryu Jeongok, Director of Talent Development Division of Gimhae City, Jeong Jaewoon, Director of Planning at Changwon Munsung University, and officials from each institution.


The Ministry of Education selects vocational education innovation districts to foster high school graduate talent who will lead regional industrial development and help them settle in the region based on cooperation between local governments and education offices. This year, the Gimhae district was selected.


Specialized high school students participating in the vocational education innovation district project will have the opportunity to complete corporate specialized education programs such as recruitment-linked field training semester systems provided by Korea GM and Changwon Munsung University as industry-academia courses.


Head Jo Jeongo said, “Korea GM will actively support nurturing local talent through collaboration with each institution.”


Director Choi Byungheon of the School Policy Bureau said, “By collaborating with the major corporation Korea GM, we will enhance the practical skills of specialized high school students in the Gimhae area and help them grow their dreams in the future automobile sector,” adding, “We will continue to sign business agreements with excellent companies to increase opportunities for students to participate in specialized education programs.”
