Ministry of Land and 3 Other Agencies Participate to Establish a Stable Implementation Foundation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 20th, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, signed an agreement with related organizations to ensure the stable promotion of the Hamyang-gun Agricultural and Fishing Village Utopia Pilot Project, hosted by the National Balanced Development Committee.
The agreement is jointly signed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Hamyang-gun. The government and Gyeongsangnam-do will provide administrative and financial support and performance management for the successful promotion of the Hamyang-gun Agricultural and Fishing Village Utopia Pilot Project over the next five years.
This pilot project is designed to improve the overall living standards of agricultural and fishing villages by using major ministries' projects such as the Housing Platform (Ministry of Land), Rural Agreement (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), and Fishing Village New Deal (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries) as basic models. It supports village development, housing, education, culture, welfare infrastructure construction, job creation, and regional capacity building in a package format.
Hamyang-gun has set the Ministry of Land’s ‘Housing Platform (Investment Leading District)’ project as its basic model and aims to realize a coexisting rural utopia in Hamyang. Plans include projects to improve living conditions in vulnerable areas, expand living SOC, and create job-linked support housing.
An official from the county stated, “We will receive stable budget support from central ministries and Gyeongnam Province for the next five years,” and added, “We will ensure that Hamyang-gun stands tall as a leading utopia region.”
