[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol said on the 20th, "The first policy direction during my term is to remove all regulations that can be lifted."

At a visit to the National Pension Service in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, Yoon said, "As the inauguration approaches, I have been thinking a lot," adding, "There is only one goal regarding how to lead the government: to ensure our people live well and prosper."

He stated, "Diplomacy and security also depend on living well; only then can we pay soldiers' salaries, provide good uniforms, and equip them with quality weapons," and added, "A company does not have a separate owner; when a company grows, shareholders earn money and workers become happy together."

He continued, "Whether it is our people, our companies, foreigners, or overseas companies, we will allow them to freely earn money in our country," and said, "We only need to collect taxes. By doing so, we can build our safety net and implement welfare policies."

Referring to the Saemangeum development project in Jeollabuk-do, Yoon said, "There is so much empty land, and the location is so good that it can compete with anywhere in the world," adding, "If we fail to attract domestic and foreign companies to develop this area, it would truly be our fault."

Regarding the campaign pledge to designate Jeonbuk as a financial hub during the presidential election, he said, "With the National Pension Fund Management Center established in Jeonju, and so-called investment banks, securities companies, foreign investment banks, and domestic financial companies' IB divisions coming to Jeonju, beyond just securing asset management contracts from the Fund Management Center, an investment banking ecosystem will be built. This ecosystem will play a significant role in the economic development of Jeonbuk, including Saemangeum. We will remove all regulations that can be lifted to make this possible."
