‘Night at Seokjojeon’ Held at Deoksugung Palace

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Royal Tombs Division and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will hold the 2022 "Night at Seokjojeon" event daily from 6:30 PM, three times a day, for 36 days from next month 3rd to June 12th, excluding Mondays.

"Night at Seokjojeon" is a nighttime experience program at Deoksugung Palace that combines a guided night tour of Seokjojeon with a professional guide, a terrace cafe experience savoring "Gabaecha (coffee)" and snacks loved by Emperor Gojong, and a creative music performance set in the Korean Empire era (musical "Sontak Hotel") enjoyed in the reception room where VIPs were welcomed.

First introduced last year, "Night at Seokjojeon" received high praise from visitors for allowing them to enjoy Seokjojeon at night, whereas previously it was only accessible during the day by prior reservation. Notably, some participants visited dressed in late Joseon Dynasty modernization period costumes, making the experience even more special. This year, the event period has been extended from 20 days last year to 36 days to provide more visitors with the opportunity to participate.

Tickets for "2022 Night at Seokjojeon" will be sold on Interpark Ticket starting at 2 PM on the 22nd. However, tickets during the Royal Culture Festival period will be sold separately in connection with the festival reservations. Each person can pre-book up to two tickets, with a price of 26,000 KRW per person.

Visitors aged 65 and older, persons with disabilities, and national merit recipients can reserve up to two tickets per session by phone on a first-come, first-served basis.
