[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, announced on the 20th that it will operate the 'Carbon Neutrality Visiting Environmental Education' for children, the future generation, to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
This education involves environmental education instructors visiting daycare centers and schools directly to raise awareness of the seriousness of global warming and to encourage the practice of carbon neutrality in daily life. Based on a demand survey, 31 daycare centers and elementary schools with about 600 applicants have been selected, and the program is planned to run until November.
Using audiovisual materials, the education will be tailored to the age level of the children to help them easily understand the theory of carbon neutrality.
To spark children's interest and attention to environmental issues, hands-on education involving making eco-friendly bath bombs will also be conducted, drawing significant interest.
A county official said, "We will operate a beneficial environmental education program so that children, who will be responsible for the future of the county, can establish correct environmental values and practice carbon neutrality in their daily lives."
