Daesong (DS) SLK Group (Chairman & CEO Lee Jason) announced on the 18th that it has established Morning Fighting International Co., Ltd. together with Dow Farm Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Dong-A University Technology Holding Company, to develop a "hangover relief beverage using fermented Hovenia dulcis."

Earlier, the two companies signed a business agreement in January to jointly develop hangover relief beverages and expand overseas.

"Fermented Hovenia dulcis" is a food ingredient with hangover relief efficacy, developed over several years by the research team led by Professor Seo Kwon-il of the Department of Food and Biotechnology at Dong-A University (who also serves as CEO of Dow Farm), and a patent application was completed last December.

The newly established Morning Fighting International Co., Ltd. plans to launch the hangover relief beverage "Morning Fighting Original" in May.

Lee Jason, Chairman and CEO of the company, said, "Based on multiple tests so far, the product has received favorable reviews for its texture and taste, especially due to the inclusion of fermented vinegar, which enhances throat feel and aroma. We expect that consumers who have been reluctant to drink hangover relief beverages because of their characteristic smell and taste will be able to consume it without hesitation."

Daesong SLK Group, as an international business development specialist with global networks in the U.S. and China, plans to lead the overseas market expansion of "Morning Fighting." Dow Farm Co., Ltd., a venture and research institute company commercializing patented technologies from Professor Seo Kwon-il’s research team at Dong-A University’s Department of Food and Biotechnology in Busan, will be able to focus steadily on research following the establishment of Morning Fighting International Co., Ltd.

The collaboration between the two companies, which possess competitive functional food material development capabilities and global networks, is expected to create significant synergy. They revealed that "plans for new product lineups to be launched after Morning Fighting Original are already being concretized," making Morning Fighting International Co., Ltd. a good example of industry-academic cooperation with promising prospects.
