Chorokbaem Healthcare Makes Investment in Hospital Ad Tech Company 'Meta Marketing'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Medical MRO (consumables and management) specialized company Chorokbaem Healthcare announced on the 19th through a public disclosure that it has decided to invest 43.8 billion KRW in the Ad-Tech specialized company ‘Meta Marketing’. Through this investment, Chorokbaem Healthcare plans to actively expand its business area centered on pharmaceutical and medical device MRO business as a ‘comprehensive medical company’.


Meta Marketing, in which Chorokbaem Healthcare invested, is a company recognized domestically as a ‘hospital brand booster’ based on its differentiated hyper-personalized digital marketing capabilities.


Meta Marketing is the core marketing partner of Korea’s largest single specialty hospitals such as ‘Leading Plastic Surgery’, ‘Dait Korean Medicine Hospital’, and ‘Plan Dental Clinic’. It successfully carried out effective specialized medical branding and marketing differentiation for these hospitals, significantly contributing to partner hospitals achieving total sales exceeding 100 billion KRW last year.


Last year, Meta Marketing recorded its highest-ever performance with sales of 20.9 billion KRW and operating profit of 2.8 billion KRW. It plans to continue its growth by developing a hyper-personalized total healthcare platform and entering the medical metaverse platform market, among various new businesses. Meta Marketing aims for an initial public offering (IPO) in 2024 and plans to start selecting underwriters and preparing for listing next year.


Chorokbaem Healthcare expects strong synergy in its artificial joint implant business, as Meta Marketing holds the largest customer database (DB) in the non-reimbursed medical field. The artificial joint implant business accounts for the largest sales portion of Chorokbaem Healthcare and currently has ‘Seran Hospital’ and ‘Gangbuk Yonsei Hospital’ as its main client hospitals.


The company explained that it will actively utilize Meta Marketing’s hospital DB and effective hospital boosting strategies to rapidly expand hospital market share and discover new customers.


A representative of Chorokbaem Healthcare said, “Meta Marketing is a promising company well known as a hospital brand booster in the domestic digital advertising industry. We decided on this investment by highly evaluating Meta Marketing’s optimized marketing capabilities in the hospital business field, corporate growth potential, and the possibility of creating strong business synergy with Chorokbaem Healthcare.”


He added, “We expect opportunities to create a new MRO market in line with Meta Marketing’s hospital partner expansion strategy. Through this, we will do our best to strengthen the competitiveness of the MRO business, a potential market with promising future growth, and enhance Chorokbaem Healthcare’s corporate value.”
